About the Team

The Software Engineering team at bloomie is instrumental in developing and maintaining critical internal systems and customer-facing applications. Currently, the team is focused on enhancing our core platform's scalability and integrating new features to support our expanding service offerings, directly addressing the business justification for continuous platform evolution. This role is primarily based in our Thessaloniki, Greece office, with opportunities for collaboration with colleagues in Athens, Greece, leveraging our distributed engineering capabilities.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain robust and scalable software solutions for internal and external platforms.

  • Collaborate with product management and cross-functional engineering teams to define, design, and ship new features and enhancements.

  • Contribute to the architectural design and implementation of new services and system improvements, adhering to internal coding standards and best practices.

  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and ensuring code quality and maintainability.

  • Troubleshoot and debug production issues, implementing effective solutions and preventative measures.

  • Utilize internal CI/CD pipelines and deployment tools to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.

  • Engage in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to drive project progress.

  • Document technical designs, processes, and operational procedures for internal knowledge sharing and future reference.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C++, Go).

  • Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.

  • Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git, and internal code repositories.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Familiarity with database technologies (SQL and NoSQL) and data modeling.

  • Understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful API design.

  • Experience with internal monitoring and logging tools for system health and performance.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving project requirements within an internal development environment.
