About the Team

The Test Engineering team in Zürich plays a critical role in ensuring the robust quality and reliability of our core software products and internal systems. This team is currently focused on enhancing our automated testing infrastructure for upcoming product launches and integrating advanced testing methodologies into our continuous delivery pipelines. The business justification for this role is paramount to maintaining our high standards of software integrity, minimizing post-release defects, and accelerating our development cycles through efficient quality assurance processes.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities
  • Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases for new features and existing functionalities across various internal platforms.
  • Identify, document, and meticulously track software defects using our internal bug tracking systems, ensuring clear communication with development teams.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, software engineers, and other cross-functional teams to understand requirements and ensure testability from the initial design phase.
  • Design, develop, and implement automated test scripts and frameworks using internal tools and best practices to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.
  • Participate actively in code reviews and design discussions, providing valuable input on testability, potential risks, and quality improvements.
  • Perform various types of testing, including regression, performance, security, and integration testing, as part of our regular release cycles and internal deployments.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our internal QA processes, methodologies, and tools, sharing knowledge and mentoring junior team members.
  • Analyze test results, generate detailed reports, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders to inform product development and release decisions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in software quality assurance or testing roles, with a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Proficiency in developing and executing detailed test plans, test cases, and comprehensive defect reports.
  • Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C#) for test automation scripting.
  • Experience with internal version control systems (e.g., Git) and understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a relevant technical field.
  • Proven experience with automated testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, JUnit, Pytest, TestNG).
  • Knowledge of performance testing tools and methodologies, with experience in load and stress testing.
  • Experience with testing applications deployed on cloud platforms and distributed systems.
  • Strong understanding of agile development methodologies and continuous integration practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and strong communication abilities.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., ISTQB Certified Tester).
